When in New Orleans you need to have a beignet! This quaint cafe was walking distance from our hotel. It's very busy, but the food and coffee are delicious!

I had the breakfast sandwich which was huge! I couldn't finish the whole sandwich. My fiancé got the Cajun hash browns which he loved. Of course we also got some warm beignets covered in powered sugar, so good!

The Royal Street location is pretty small so be prepared to wait and be on the lookout for an open table.

We ordered a crawfish omelette and a pecan waffle to share. Sat down to wait for our food. The server brought out our food without any utensils, and then pointed us to where you're supposed to pick them up yourself. We noticed three other people get their food, only to have to go up and get their utensils after their food had been served. A simple statement by the cashier would be helpful. It's just irritating to be hungrily awaiting your food, only to have it sit there at your table while you have to pick up your utensils.

The pecan waffle was delicious, and I'd order that again, but the crawfish in the omelette was unpleasant and fishy tasting, so we just ate around it.

I guess you should just stick with the carb-loaded items on the menu, and know that you have to pick up your utensils before your food arrives.

I was in New Orleans on a business trip last month, and hadn't been to NOLA in over a decade. And it was the first time that my girlfriend had been here, and she did not want to leave New Orleans without trying an authentic Beignet.

With flying into New Orleans we took an Uber everywhere, and all of the locals said this was the place to go with you wanted good Beignet's with out the long line...so how can you say no to that.

Cafe Beignet in located in the heart of the French Quarter, in a converted 1800's carriage house. So it's small and quaint and has a lot of history in it's walls. It also has a nice vibe with intimate style seating inside, and a small patio in the back to bring small table together for a larger party.

Most of our group ordered some Beignet and my girlfriend and I ordered some coffee as well. I decided on a White Chocolate Latte, and I believe she had an Cappuccino. Overall the Beignet were really good and we all enjoyed them. Our drinks although good were VERY hot, so we both had to weight for them to cool down to drink. I didn't wait as long as my girlfriend and sip on mine pipping hot and actually ended up burning my tongue. My girlfriends was to hot to actually hot, and she had to wait to drink it after we left.

That was the only bummer, but I don't think it was enough to knock our visit by a star.

Proximity is king in the land of beignets. If you are near this location and the heat is blazing you will find comfort in turbo a/c  and will claim that these are the best in the city. (I will not agree but you still have a pretty good beignet.) The lemonade paired beautifully as the freezing cold them that colded me to goosebumps. But then after the aww of holding something ice cold fades - it's just ok.

Once your body gets back to normal temperature and you look around it's just ok. The place is cute. But then you take notice that the cashiers rarely smiled. More likely to be looking over your head or pulling out phones when no one is looking. Then you see that they all handle money. They all handle your food. Ewww. We walked in during a slow moment but when the 20 minute for the food the place flooded. At one point would I saw the service was fast

I'm complete against the veggie omelette. I don't know why some places think omitting meat means omitting flavor and even salt. The food pictures beautifully but it just doesn't taste as amazing as the pictures. But even though I normally hate pecan pie - they have a pecan tart that can make a hater like me a believer. (Always great when traveling with foodie friends that force you to try things.)

    Service 3 Food 3 (Beignets 4, Pecan Tart 5)

Line was long in the morning as expected.  Was a bit worried that we wouldn't find a seat, but they had plenty of seating outside.  Just ordered the 3 count of beniets.  My husband and I shared, there was enough for two.  I didnt like the old oil taste of them, but my husband didnt seem to mind.  I liked all the extra powdered sugar.  Very cheap.  Had a caramel latte...that was good.
